I am trying to find any records of Frederick Lee b1887 who was a Private in the 4th Battalion in the Middlesex Regiment. I dont know when he joined up but he was a private in 1909 and he could have been in the army for a few years before that. He was badly injured in the WW1 so he was probably discharged any between 1914 and 18. |

I really dont know - on his wedding certificate he is just Frederick Lee - no middle name. All I know about him is that his fathers name was Matthew -again from his marriage cet and that he was 22yrs old at the time in 1909 -- and that he was in the middlesex regiment,4th battalion From the 1911 census he was recorded as being born in canning town, essex. This ties in with his 2nd daughters place of birth in 1913 as the same which is 100% correct. There are a couple of frederick lees born in Dncaster but I'm pretty sure this wasnt my grt grandfather. |

Can only suggest you try the Middlesex Regiment. Does anyone in the family have his medals from WW!. These would give you his regimental number to help matters. It will cost though - records from the Grenadiers cost me £30. |
