hello,
trying to find anyone who would have heard of harry lee.
he was my wife's father.
she was born in 1958 in pontypool south wales.
harry apparently was working there at the time, and paid his dues until my wife was 16.
i dont believe he was allowed access by my wife's mother and gran.
we have done quite a bit of searching , but to no avail.
we would like nothing more than information from anyone that can help.
my wife Anne's maiden name was Mayers.

also might be worth putting a "Where are you now?" appeal in the local newspaper for the area - that would be The South Wales Argus based in Newport, Gwent

thanks for the info,
i am from newport, but unfortunately i believe the gent in question was "allegedly from the midlands".
probably too late now, but he might have had other children later, it just depends whether he told anyone about his "other daughter"

Hi Pau;l I have looked up records of births for Anne and I found the following.

Anne P Mayers. 1958 July/Sept. Qtr. reg in Pontypool. vol 8c 326. Could not find another one but for this the Mothers maiden name was JAMES

Does this sound correct. If so, it would appear that they were married.???? Do you have a copy of the birth certificate. Ethel.
