Graeme Lee 11th October 2005 I am seeking information on my Great Great Grandfather Richard Lee. According to the info I have Richard migrated to Australia with his son Samuel Sanders Lee (Samuel would have been 11) on a ship called the 'Maria Hay' on the 22nd April 1854 from Southampton arriving in Geelong, Victoria, Australia on the 23rd July 1854. Richard was either a Blacksmith or a Tinsmith by trade. Richard's wife Eliza Jane (or possibly Jane Eliza) nee Sanders apparently did not come over with him. Records show that a Eliza Jane Lee was apassenger on a ship called the 'Shallimar which left Liverpool on the 16th August 1857 arriving in Geelong on the 11th November 1857. I have not been able to confirm whether this lady was Richard's wife. It is possible that this lady was born in Tipperary Ireland. Any info on both of these people would be greatly appreciated.
