My gt grandfather was Alfred George Lewis Walley, he was born in 1868 in Bunbury, Cheshire and he was illigitimate. Alf took his mum's surname of Walley, Ann (his mum) was a domestic servant for a doctor in Bunbury who as the story goes was his father and his surname was possibly Lewis. The doctor arranged for Alf to be brought up by an "aunt and uncle" Ann and William Corbett, he also paid for him to go to the Blue Coat School at Chester. We don't know what happened to Alf's mum but we know she didn't see him again.
If there is anyone out there with a probable skeleton in the cupboard of a descendant, of an illigitimate child in the Bunbury area, could you get in touch, thanks ,
