I am trying to find info on my greatgran mary lewis and her husband charles evans. They were from the merthyr Tydfall area(pant dowlais). They were born about 1880 and married around 1900. They had at least 2 sons one of which was my grandfather Evan John Evans. They later moved to Edinburgh.
I would be grateful for any info on them or there ancestors

Many Thanks

With names as common as these, dates which are 'about' are not enough on which to base a search.

Find their marriage reg'n on the freebmd website..........if it's pre-1901 census, we can try to locate them for you on 1901

When and where was your grandfather born?

I can't find a marriage between a Charles Evans and a Mary Lewis on FreeBMD.

Nearest I could find was a Charles Evans to Annie Lewis in Abergavenny, March qtr. 1898, 11a, page 51.

Perhaps his birth cert would be a better bet........

I didn't know that English death certs included the parents' names...............or was his mother the informant?
