WHO IS MY GRANDFATHER

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

Francis Paul

Francis Paul Report 7 Jun 2009 13:52

On my siblings Birth Certificates my mother's name is shown as Christabel Mary Ward while mine shows her maiden name as Christabel Mary Lewis.
Being an illegitimate child she was taken in by the Nuns at Melbourne Australia hence the name Ward.(I think).
The Lewis name is one positive due to it being on my Birth Certificate . Any further clues are just heresay these being the towns of Bordertown in Victoria Australia and Mt Gambier in South Australia . Both towns are in close proximity on the South Australia state border with Victoria.
Mr Lewis was either born in Poland or is of Polish descent.
My mother was born 25/12/1908 so I suggest Mr Lewis would have been born in the 1880's..
Heresay adds a bit of spice to some stories with the gentleman in question supposedly a Polish Count..
Any info as with all these messages would be appreciated.

Kind Regards

Frank P Fleay

Hi there Frank - best remove your email address - not allowed by GR

You have given no relevant dates to help here

Also, as you have chosen to post in capital letters, which makes for difficult reading, can you put a few spaces in to make it a bit easier to read

and where is Mt Gambier?

Thanks

Ann
