John (Jack) LEWIS (born City of London c.1862-1918), a Musician & Photographer, and his wife, Jane (Jinnie) TEMPLE (1857-1922) 'adopted' her nephew, Percy TEMPLE (1887-1953), and took him to live in London. By 1901 census he is shown as Jane & John's son, Percy LEWIS, living at Gloucester Street, Clerkenwell. The LEWISs also 'adopted' Percy's cousin, Isabelle Temple (c.1895- ?), known as Isa. In 1901 census she is shown as Isabelle LEWIS. In 1913 the LEWISs were living in St Luke's Road, Birmingham where they ran a music shop. I would be delighted to hear from any TEMPLEs or LEWISs out there with information about this family. |
