Hi I am trying to locate my great grandfather and grandmother, John Henry Lewis and Sarah Ann Lewis. In 1892 they were living at 3 Gibbett Hill Road, Swansea. They had possibly 3 or four children, my grandfather, Henry, and perhaps another boy and two girls. John Henry was a Journeyman Painter and I believe that Sarah had a shop of some kind. My grandfather told me that his father was killed falling from a building he was working on and then my great grandmother died leaving the children orphaned. They were sent to the children's home in Mumbles and I am not sure but I believe my grandfather was the only surviving child and was claimed by his grandfather when he was 10 or 11. Can anyone help? I have my grandfather's birth certificate but can find no other trace of John Henry or Sarah Ann. |
