Am looking for information on John E Lewis my Grandfather. He divorced from my grandmother (Madge Hope Lewis) after they had a daughter (my mother) and re married. He then had 3 sons, Peter, Paul and Michael. I believe he was living in Chelsea at the time. (1940's?) He ran as a labour candidate in the late 1940's early 1950's under the name John E Curthoys. He also acted in theatre and wrote plays including one that was briefly shown at the Palace theatre in the West End, London, called 'A Modern Woman In Her 4 Acts'. My mother was told his parents were Scottish and left the country to run a plantation in the Canaries but both died leaving him to be raised by an aunt. I do not know if this is ture though. Any info very welcome. Hannah Gowney
