Osborne Arthur Anthony Lewis, born 1869, Raglan, Monmouthshire, eldest child of Sidney Lewis (Postman or Letter Carrier) and Jane; siblings Myra, Emma Sidney & Oscar. He was probably known as Arthur. I think his first marriage was to Clara Morris on 31 March 1888 in Newport, Monmouthshire. By 1901 there were 4 children: Vivian, Arthur, Edgar & Bessie. I'd be interested to hear from any relative of Osborne Arthur Anthony. In June 1927 he married my grandmother (Emma Annie - known as Annie). They were both widowed and in their fifties. His occupation is given as Trade Union Organiser. I believe the marriage did not work out and that he went to Canada. I'm curious about this marriage which seemed to upset my mother very much (she was 18 at the time) and she and Annie were estranged for the rest of Annie's life. |
