Nicholas Lewis born between 1600and 1640 -probably around 1633 as he had a daughter called Rebecca born 25th Oct 1658 at Wincanton Somerset. Would very much like to connect Nicholas Lewis's pedigree tree with another Lewis tree (the Visitation family)showing descendants of William of Matherne who moved to stock gayland in Dorset - and a certain Barnaby lewis married Avys on 25/05/1594. They produced a son Benjamin in 1605 who lived at Wincanton .He married Constance in 1629 and they had a number of children -william,Constance Theophilus and Joseph between 1629 and 1645. There is a gap without kids between 1629 and 1636 and I am guessing! that nicholas lewis may have been born around 1633. The visitation family runs through to 1748 with Lewis's living at Stock Gayland until then. If you had Lewis relations living in Wincanton,Stock Gayland or Stoke Trister I would be delighted to talk to you or if William of Matherne means anything to you. |
