Were any of your mother's siblings born before 1911, so that I can try and find them with your grandfather in that census?
Do you know what occupation Joseph had in 1911?
Do you know what his wife was called?
Is the Roland a family name from your mother's side?
Thanks,
Pat

It would appear my Father was born later. I have now requested my parents marriage certificate from the UK government agency. Hopefully this will shed some more light.
It also seems my mother was born later.
I'm still delving......

Hi Patricia,

Not certain about any sibling born before 1911. I think my grandfather was married twice, my mothers mother was nee Pallett. My Grandfather was a miner, he also fought in the first world war in the South Lancashire regiment. Roland is my christian name, no one else prior to me with that name that I am aware of.

I do appreciate your help

Roly
