I have William Martin 1817& Betsy with 7 sons b 1840 to1857 all liveing in Shebbear devon I have been trying to find there house/cottage with no luck is there anyone who may be able to help. there sons names were
Henry,James,Joseph,William,John,& Joshuer.

There is this in the 1871 census......William is a Shepherd. He is living between Buckland House and Buckland Mill in a house named Madberry

I think this is your family in the 1851 census which has been mistranscribed..... the actual image gives 'Martyn' for the surname

I have found Henry, James & William but they are Servants and not with the family which doesn't help with an address

The name of the property is difficult to read .... it looks like 'Splat'. The households before are just listed as Shebbear Village and then the household on the other side it says 'Highworthy'. Then after 'Highworthy' there are a number of households and they are just listed as 'New Inn Cross'.
