Hello. I am trying to trace my maternal grandmothers family. My mum, Dorothy (Marshall nee Read) died in 1973 and I lost contact with them All I really know is that lived in Buckinghamshire (Dropmore, Taplow, Burnham Beeches, Maidenhead area). My grandmother was Hilda Martin, born in c1898. She had lots of brothers and sisters including May, Flo (I believe) and Lully (Nellie or Ellen). She had brothers who I believe were Fred, Thomas and Joseph but I'm not sure. At least one of them went away to war in 1914 (ish) and never came home. Hilda's dad was an agricultural labourer and is apparently buried (along with her mum) in the church yard in Dropmore. Hope you can help Julia |
