Are there any Martins in Canada who are descended from BERTIE WILLIAM MARTIN who was born in Bournemouth, England in 1895? Bertie was one of seven children of SAMUEL MARTIN and his wife LUCY (nee WHITE) and is believed to have gone to Canada at some date between 1907 and 1928. There is a photograph of him with a wife and baby. The other children of Samuel and Lucy were MABEL ANNIE, ARTHUR HENRY (both born when the family lived in Yeovil, Somerset), ROSA LILIAN, BESSIE ADELA, ERNEST FRANK and EDWIN HAROLD all born in Bournemouth between 1895 and 1907. Nothing is known about Ernest and Edwin and it has been suggested that they might have emigrated to Australia.
