My father-in-law, Horace Stanley Searle Martin, was born in 1921 to Mabel Eleanor Patience Martin, at 46, Ouseley Road, Balham (a Board of Guardians Hospital). According to the birth certificate, the mother worked as an advertising contractor's clerk in Wimbledon Road, Tooting. His father is not listed on his birth certificate. Horace (known as Stan) was adopted informally at about 3 years old. He died some years ago, but his children would like to know something of his family history |
