Trying To Find Family Of Mary Mitchell

Mary Mitchell Was my Grandmother she was Married to my Grandfather Percy Barton The Last time i new were her Family Live was in Leeds and as far as i know she was born in 1910 and she had three sisters One was called Winnie my grand mother was also a music teacher at the age of 18 i also know my great great grandfather was called Peter Mitchell so if anyone out there knows anything about my family i would be very grateful

If Mary had any sibs born 1912 or later, then the GRO index for their b.cert would give the mother's maiden name, and then you could look for a marriage of Miss Smith or whatever to Mr Mitchell, and purchasing that m.cert would give the names of the fathers of the bride and groom. Alternatively, you can get your g grandparents from your gran's b.cert, which you would probably want to purchase anyway. Either way, FreeBMD looks like it should get a visit.

Did you mean to say your gt grandfather was called Peter Mitchell? If so have you an occupation for him from grans wedding cert?

no grand parents not alive grand mother died when my father was 16 so i did not know her i only met her sister Winifred when i was a baby and very young when i met Great Aunt Bell.

still having no look in finding anything out about my grandmother all i know is that she was one of four daughters and her family lived in Leeds and she was born in 1910 can anyone help out there

many thanks Shirley will try and have a look but there was two other sisters as well one was called bell or bell could be short for Elisebeth or Belinda or even bella cant remember what other sister was called
