William Mitchell was recorded as being born in Marylebone, London in 1805. He married a Jane Heath also from Marylebone born in 1906. I got the Metropolitan Archives to do a one hour search, but this was unsuccessful. They obviously did'nt have time to check every church in the area. William and Jane moved into the Shoreditch area in the East End around the 1830's. Their children were Mary Ann, William jnr, John Thomas, and Josiah Mitchell.

I have Jane Mitchell's death cert, which states she died in 1885 aged 79 years. I have been unable to get the correct death cert for William Mitchell unfortunately. On the cert it states that she was the widow of William Mitchell coachman. In the 1871 Census he was recorded as a coachman. He must have died in between the 1871 and 1881 Census, because Jane was a widow by the 1881 Census
