My g.g. grandafther was Joseph MITCHELL (b. about 1825 in Bath, Somerset), married to an Emma Hill. They had 4 children born in Bristol: 1. Joseph Samuel b. ~1847 and married Rosetta Steward (my g. grandparents), moved to London and had 8 children, my grandfather among them. 2. Catherine Amelia b. 15 March 1850. I do not know anything more about Kate. 3. Samuel b. 30 June 1856, married Emily Jane Watts, became an Accountant and had 3 children born in Bristol; Winifred (b. 18 Dec 1884), Emily (b. 1889) and Maurice (b. 1892). 4. Herbert b. 21 June 1863, married Annie Williams, became a Journeyman Carpenter and had 5 children in Barton Regis / Bristol area; John Herbert (b. 24 Nov 1891), Olive Annie (b. 6 Dec 1892), Percival Walter (b. 2 Feb 1894), Elsie Clarice (b. 25 Nov 1896) and Samuel George (b. 10 Jan 1901) |
