Trying to find Mitchell

Trying to establish the birthplace/parentage of H(O)USTON MITCHELL born somewhere in region of 1843-7. Married in Co Cavan, Ireland in 1865 to Margaret Lindsey. Both MITCHELLs and LINDSAYs thought to have originated in Dumfries & Galloway area of Scotland, or thereabouts. Huston and Margaret had several children, all born in Ireland - Hannah b 1866, Samuel George b 1871, Martha b 1878 and John (my g grandfather) b 1868. There may have been other children. As far as I can tell most of this family were in Liverpool or Birkenhead by the time of their deaths. If anybody thinks they may be connected - however vaguely, or ever comes across a reference to a Huston Mitchell from Ireland, Scotland or Liverpool I would be VERY pleased to hear from you. |
