MITCHELL, KNIGHT, MOSS, CUMING Have you any of the above names in your family tree? Born, married, died, or recorded as living in SOUTH EAST LONDON? (Camberwell, Peckham, New Cross, Deptford, Greenwich, Rotherhithe, Southwark, Lewisham, Brockley) I would like to find decendents and relatives of my great grandfather/grandmother and my grandfather/grandmother: JOHN JOSEPH MITCHELL b. 1865 who married MARY KNIGHT He lived in Peckham and worked in the leather industry. I have no information about MARY KNIGHT His son (My grandfather) ARTHUR JOSEPH MITCHELL b. 1900 was registered in the Peckham, sub district of Camberwell. He lived in Brisdon Street, Old Kent Road, Peckham and later Pomeroy Street, New Cross, He worked for The Gas Board/SEGAS for most of his life He married ANNIE JESSIE MOSS b.1899. in 1925 (who also lived in Brisdon Street). ANNIE was the daughter of HARRY COLLINS MOSS and ANNIE CUMING (I assume they were born around 1870 or thereabouts) HARRY was recorded as working for The Gas Board. JOHN JOSEPH and MARY MITCHELL had several other children FREDERICK, RICHARD (known as Dicky) LOU (probably LOUISE) and at least two other daughters (one with the initials C.L) I understand that one of the sisters married the brother of ANNIE MOSS. I understand that RICHARD lived next door to his brother in Pomeroy Street. If you have any connection to the above please do not hesitate to contact me. Lynn :-))). |
