I am seeking the daughter ( b.1948 )of Det Superindent Mitchell of Durham Police . Her Dad joined the force in 1929 and left in the early 1960's on a pension. He died in 1975. His father robert and his father's brother john(jack), were also in the Durham Constabulary. Their parents were Alexander and Mary Mitchell from Ayr in Scotland. This latter couple had a big family, and I am descended from Elizabeth, one of their children 1866-1948, who married Robert McArthur of Dumbarton, in Melbourne Victoria Australia in 1888.
