Trying to find information on the Mitchell's from Edinburgh. My great-grandfather was called Patrick James (1895), his older brother was called Thomas (1889) & a younger sister called Margaret (1899). Their parents died when my gg was about 4 and all 3 were put into a Catholic orphange. My gg was decorated at the Somme but through subordination (he threw his ruck sack down), the medal(s) were taken off him. His brother was a non-commissioned officer & remained in the army all his working life. The sister, was best friends with my great grandmother Catherine. Any information would be gratefully received! My gg moved his family to Manchester in 1926 and worked for the Mirror newspaper. His eldest son (my grandfather) & youngest daughter movd to Sunderland, Jimmy moved to Lytham St Annes & Eddie remained in Machester.
