Henry Moore was born about 1848 and married Sarah Moad in South Shields in 1874. They had at least 6 children, possibly 8 - Rebecca (1875), Sarah (1882), Stephen (1884), Wilfred (1886). Thomas (1891), Grace (1894) plus possibly Margaret (1877) & Alice (1880)
Henry appears in the 1901 & the 1911 census and says he was born in London (1901) and North Shields (1911). He says his father was also Henry, an Engineer.

Thank you for looking at these. I have found all of them but it still hasn't helped me trace Henry and his ancestors.
Henry Moore married Sarah Moad 17 Mar 1874 in South Shields.
Their first daughter Rebecca was born about 1875 but I did not find a birth registration,. She was living with her grandparents in 1881 and in the Lowther Industrial School in 1891. She was going by the name of Lucy McPherson and living at 293 Frederick Street, South Shields in 1901 with her youngest sister Grace. She didn't marry John McPherson until Mar Q 1903 when she was recorded as being Lucy Rebecca Moore.
Margaret who was also in the Industrial school in 1891 may or may not be the daughter of Henry & Sarah Moore. I can't find a birth registrations so can't prove it. Nor can I prove that the Sarah Moore with Margaret and Alice in 1881 is indeed Henry's wife. I think Henry might be in prison in 1881 but if he is he says he was born in South Shields.
Sarah Moore was born in 1882, Stephen in 1884, Wilfred in 1886 and most frustratingly Thomas in 1891. Thomas was born on 11th March but his birth not recorded until after the census was taken in April. I have checked the address the mother says they were living at but whereas the street, Claypath Lane, exists, the house number (no 31) doesn't. I looked at the census before it all went on computer and trawled through the films for South Shields looking for this family to no avail.
The last child, Grace was born in 1896 and 2 years later her mother died.
Henry remarried in 1901 and in the 1911 census he said he had been married 29 years and had two children - Wilfred and Grace were living with him at that time.
I have found no trace of Henry prior to his marriage and the whole family are missing in 1891, despite there being a 3 week old baby with them
