Trying to find the surname of Hester born 1832 in Moreton Gloster, Middlesex. She was the wift of George Moore ) 1822, Peterborough, Cambridgshire) and had several children.

Thomas 1863, Sarah 1865, Martha 1868, Fanny 1871 and Matthew 1876.


Just wondering if somebody can help me ?

Hi Trevor. The birth of Fanny. Jan/March Qtr. reg in St Pancras. vol 1b page 174. Copy of this birth certificate will give the mothers maiden name. Hope this helps.
Tried to find the marriage, but spelling of Hesters name may be the problem. Ethel..

Hiya Ethel, i thought the problem may well live with the spelling of hester untill i tried it in familysearch and the only geroge moore marrige was a man from York, whilst mine was born Peterborough

My nan was an Esther.....found spelling of Hester and she was also known as Ettie! Might help with your searches.

I notice Hester/Ester is with her daughters family in 1901 James Shaw.. they also have their brother in law with them William Edwards. This looks like Martha's marriage;

So why is the father now named as Matthew!!! There are also more marriages for the named children.. including Sarah E Moore... father Matthew Moore.... Matthew Moore with father Matthew Moore.


Something isn't adding up?

Hi Trevor. Since I wrote you you have had such a lot of info but I still think you only settle this with a copy of one of the childrens birth certificates. If you apply, which will cost you £9 stress the Mothers name of Hester/Esther but possible George for Father/ That way they will check other names for the Father. Ethel.
