In 1841 William Moore, a baker, born about 1809, was living in Lambeth with his locally born wife, Susan Tansley, and 2 of his children. They had married at St John's, Westminster in 1834. The Moores had 9 children - Hannah, 1836, Sarah, 1840, Benjamin, 1841, John, 1844, Elizabeth, 1845, Susan, 1848, Richard, 1850, William, 1852 and Ann, 1855. The 1861 census shows that he was born in Camb., Cottenham, and he confirms this in the subsequent census return. He died in 1876, probably in Edmonton Almshouse. Richard was my great grandfather but I have no other information about his father. Does this help at all? I know I need some. |
