I would love to contact anyone who has any information on the family of Alfred Moore and Mary Ann Moore (formerly Clarke). Alfred and Mary Ann were married at Great Glen, Leicestershire in 1883 and at the time Alfred gives his occupation as 'servant' In 1901 Alfred and Mary were living at No.3 Leicester Street, Leicester and Alfred's occupation was 'machine room worker-boot trade' At this time they had seven children:- Alfred (b.1885) Elsie (b.1887) Edith (b.1890) Ethel (b.1893) Edgar (b.1895) Dorothy (b.1900) and my Grandfather Laurence Joseph who was born in 1897. When Laurence married my Gradmother in 1920 he was living at 64, Woodland Road, Leicester and was working at a mineral water works. When Laurence died in the 1950's his mother Mary Ann Moore was still alive (she would have been in her 80's) and I believe still living in Leicester. Any information would be most appreciated. |
