Wanting any information on my late grandfather Robert Morris. According to his papers from WW1 where he was a skipper on the minesweepers, he was born in Birkenhead in 1878. Have not been able to find his birth certificate. We have no information at all about his parents or siblings. On marriage cert. his father is given as William. We believe he did have brothers and sisters and that his mother died and the boys were put into the blue coat school when his father remarried have no idea about the sisters or if this information is correct. He met and married my Grandmother in 1904 in Hull where he was working on the fishing trawlers. |
