The births may simply not have been registered. Until 1875 , there was no penalty for not registering births |

Is this the baptism of one of them? |

They may not have birth certificates as although registration began in 1837 there was no penalty for not registering until 1875 when fines for late registration were introduced. |

It looks as if one of the births may have been found, but even if children's births were not registered, most people would have had their children baptised in those days. |

this family apart from hannah, and emma, was born in different area, samuel on one census was born in blaenavon in wales, in another he was born in darlaston, in another he was born in brierley hill, thomas also was born in different places, on the census, there mother was also born in different places so with hannah and emma being born in smethwick, i thought that i could get thier birth cetificates , then i would have the mothers maiden name, |
