DOES ANYONE KNOW IF , THE RAILWAYS, KEPT THE NAMES OF THOSE THEY EMPLOYED, I BELIEVE THAT MY GRANDAD WORKED AT A DEPOT

I don't know for sure! However, you could contact the Rail Museum in York. They should be able to give you further information for your search.

There is a book that would have just what you need, our FHS has a copy, the guy who put it together did a talk about it to us, can't find the name ATM.
