Member Since: February 2008 Posts: 77 Send Message	She born on 24/11/1911, And passed away on June 1991 in York Married to William George Hawtin, and got 2 daughters - Patricia and Pamela. Am wondering who were Dorothy's parents, as all the time she said to my mum that she was adopted. Hope you can help!

	The only way to find out her parents is to buy her birth certificate, could one of these 3 be her: Surname First name(s) Mother District Vol Page -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Births Dec 1911 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NICHOLSON Dorothy Evans Ecclesall B. 9c 912 NICHOLSON Dorothy Bird Tynemouth 10b 519 NICHOLSON Dorothy Crum E.Stonehouse 5b 462 Also, formal adoption didn't start until c1927 so if will have been an informal arrangement if she ever was adopted.
