My grandfathers brother was Harold Nicholson born 1901 in Droylsden, Lancashire, I have managed to trace all his family except this one, I cant locate a death either, can anyone help......Thanks

Visiting Information: Wheelchair access possible via main entrance. For further information regarding wheelchair access, please contact our Enquiries Section on telephone number 01628 507200. Visitors should note that the cemetery is located next to a military base with security cameras and any photography should be taken with this in consideration.
Location Information: The town of Celle lies in the north of Germany approx 40kms north east of Hannover. From the A7 motorway Hannover to Hamburg take exit 56 (Ausfahrt 56) CELLE and follow the B3 direction CELLE. Continue along the B3 following the signs for SOLTAU for approx 29kms passing through the town of Celle. From the HARBURGERSTRASSE turn right onto IM ROLANDE (CWGC sign) and the cemetery can be found after 100m on the left. The cemetery address is:- Im Rolande 29223 Celle Germany GPS Location is:- N 52 38 16 E 10 04 58
Historical Information: Celle War Cemetery was the hospital cemetery of the 64th British Military Hospital and those buried here were mainly servicemen who died of wounds sustained during the last month or so of the war. The cemetery contains 206 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War and three Polish war graves.

I had thought he migt have died at war as the 3 brothers all went to war ..Grandad survived, Percy died but I am not sure Harold would have been in that Regiment as the other two were in the East Lancs but I suppose its possible.

have been looking at the pension record for miltiary on ancestry and found following.Harold was 5ft 3 1/2 inches tall weight 104 lbs chest 33 1/2 inches complextion fresh blue eyes hair fair church of england

his no was 90296 private depot manchester regiment
reference from doctor galanty lived fairfield road, droylsden
job was a carter with Mr Melling copper lane droyledon

was only in the army for 147 days as was dicharged suffered impairment since going in service

joined 12/5/1920 and was discharge 5/10/1920
was 18 years and 7months when joined

mother Sarah Jane nicholson and father Thomas

There was a lot of medical informatin of his condition but very hard to read. there were lots of pages in his military report

SO YOU ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A DEATH FOR HIM
