trying to find information on a Catherine Charlotte Nicholson who married a william Houghton Hardiment, his parents are believed to be william Hardiment and Ann Houghton. In the 1871 census catherine was a servant/domestic at 1 Ocean Terrace, either a guest house or hotel, and it looks like she lived with a family called Knight, catherine was only 16 in 1871! ( she must of met William through the guest house/hotel) William and Catherine married on january 30th 1874 St Nicholas, Great Yarmouth Norfolk, they had 2 daughters. The census for this year of 1881 says Catherine V Hardiment daughter one, lived at 6 Nursery Terrace Great Yarmouth, and she would of been aged 4, and daughter 2 annie maud born 1888 but between 1881 and 1901 they all moved to Hull, where she ended up running a boarding house.( prior to leaving Great Yarmouth, her husband William was a fisherman, but no record of him can be found anywhere) ANY help would be wonderful! thanks Amy |
