I am trying to find information regarding my grandfathers family who came from up north BARROW IN FURNESS area. My great grandfather was called LAIDLAW NICHOLSON, my grandfather GEORGE HENRY NICHOLSON, his brothers NORMAN NICHOLSON, HERBERT NICHOLSON, also had a sister FRANCIS NICHOLSON. LAIDLAW was in the merchant navy and the family moved to Hull around the 1920's. I have reason the beleive that the family also had connections in WORKINGTON CUMBERLAND, AND ALSO COCKERMOUTH CUMBERLAND AND FRIZINGTON CUMBERLAND. I will be greatful to hear from anyone else researching the Nicholsons from that area. Thank you Jo |
