Member Since: October 2004 Posts: 0 Send Message	My husband's grandmother was MARGARET NICHOLSON b circa 1890? She met her husband ROBERT MACLEOD in YARMOUTH at the herring fishing but he hailed from the SUTHERLAND area. MARGARET'S father was a church minister on SKYE but she never returned after marriage. Can only assume that she was born on SKYE as I haven't been able to trace any of her birth records. Seems as if SKYE doesn't exsist on the Scottish website! MARGARET and ROBERT had sons ALEXANDER MACLEOD, (my father-in-law), ROBERT, (known as BINGO), MACLEOD, DONALD MACLEOD and SIMON MACLEOD with only one daughter BETTY. So far as we know all children were born in HELMSDALE, SCOTLAND with Alexander being born 1908. Please do get in touch if you think MARGARET NICHOLSON fits similar descriptions to any of your ancestors by the same name - fingers crossed!
