LOOKING FOR ANNE ELIZABETH O'TOOLE from COUNTY WIC

Jacqueline Report 20 May 2008 22:34

Anne Elizabeth O'Toole (married surname MAY) was (probably) born in Country Wicklow Eire, in approx 1913 - I havenot been able to obtain her birth certificate as yet.
She came to SE Kent and worked in Dover. She was only 21 when she married my Grandfather, Edward William May (who was then aged 34 yrs ) at Acrise Church (near Folkestone) on 14/12/1933. Anne's father was Michael O'Toole and his occupation was given as 'Clerk' on the marriage certificate.
Anne gave birth to my mother, Margaret Evelyn Mary May on December 16th 1934. Anne left my grandfather in approx 1936, my grandfather having been given custody of my mother by the courts. No one in our family heard from her again, except that she may have moved along the south coast to Eastbourne following their separation. My grandfather divorced Anne during WW2.
This is something my mother would never talk about, so even this information has been difficult for me to obtain.
Can you help - do you know of Anne, her family or descendants?
