I am trying to find any information on where my husband's g/grandfather John Parker (1821) was born and lived before coming to Llanelli and marrying Rachel Griffiths in 1862.On his wedding certificate it states that he is a weighter in a silverlead mine in Llanelli area, and that his father was a carpenter called Edward. Family has it that he'd worked for a silversmith in the Old Kent Rd and lived in Bermondsey. I'd be grateful for any information as I'm completely stuck. |

Thanks Linda,I do Have his marriage certificate. It gives his yob as 1821 and his father's name as Edward, occupation carpenter. I had come accross the John Parker in Neath before, but as my husband and his family firmly beleaved the Old Kent Rd silversmith stories I didn't connect the two! Perhaps I should start researching John Parker, Neath. Maybe I will find something there. |
