The surname parker has been recorded in english history since at least 1066, and is one of a hand full of surnames depicted in the doomsday book.It was originally of french origin, and came over to england with the normans and there extensive deer hunting parks. These parks needed maintaining and park keepers were employed.But when the surname arrived in england it wasnt Parker but le parchier or le parquier or the park keeper
