I would be interested in finding out what happened to my grandfather's father in the US, Archibald Parker, who was an engineer from Blaenavon and emigrated at the end of the 19C. My grandfather also had an uncle called Adolphus Parker who went to New Zealand and bought a sheep farm and we would be interested in any news on his family. My grandfather (mother's father) was Trevor Baron Parker (1892 - 1941) who grew up in Cwmavon and Port Talbot and founded a firm of solicitors after service as an officer in the First World War. His father emigrated to the USA after his wife died young. Isaac Parker, an ancestor, lived at The Laurels, Usk, Monmouthshire. This was sold up in the 1930s. Charles Franklyn a genealogist has prepared a history of this branch of the Parkers which is available in the British Library. Regards Jane |
