I am trying to find the parents of Willam Roberts born abt 1845 in Douglas, Isle of man. He was married to an Alice born abt 1845 in Salford,Lancs(I have not managed to find wedding record) and had 4 children that I know off a William henry Roberts born abt 1867(my grandmothers grandfather),Emily brn abt 1871 who died before the 1881 census came out,Eleonar brn abt 1873 and Gertrude brn abt 1880 mostley in the Pendleton area. Can anyone help??

If you send off for one of the birth certs of the children then that would show mum's maiden name. It might then be a bit easier to find the marriage record.
