Hi

Looking for some advice, I am looking for more information on someone who died in WWII, all I know at present is their surname and when they would have been alive until as a minimum. I also know the name of the barracks and location of the barracks they were stationed in. Am I starting an impossible task?

Thanks

Jenny

Try the British commonwealth grave commision site they have a search records site, as long as you have the surname you may be able to trace them

Have you the info from the CWGC site?

http://www.cwgc.org/debt_of_honour.asp?menuid=14

Have you considered obtaining his Srevice records, that is of course if you are NOK or have permission from a NOK.

Note tha ww2 Service records are not online they are still held by the MOD and none of thjis info is in the public domain

I am just looking through it now.

Am waiting for FIL to bring round all the information he has, as I am doing this to help him out. Once I have some of this I think it will make things a bit easier.
