Hallo. My name is Ann Merryweather(nee Roberts) I am trying to trace the father, mother of my grandfather Lionel Thomas Roberts who was born in Mare Street, Hackney on 31st August 1884. He had a sister Ethel Maude who emigrated to Canada at the end of the 1st World War and married an Adams. I know there were cousins living in Ontario and Saschetwan. two names I know are Carol and Keyworth(a most unusual name so hopefully someone might be able to recognise it.) The birth certificates of Lionel and Edith are 'missing' from the Registry as are the death certificate of their parents(it is believed the mother was called Maude) can anyone telll me why these certificates cannot be found are there some registry books missing because of the bombing of the East End in World War II? Any help most gratefully received. |
