My grandmothers name was originally Gladys Roberts. In later life, she married my grandfather Cyril Sheppard and became Gladys Sheppard. We have reason to believe that my grandmother was somehow connected to the Earl of Powys. We know that his alternative name was Captain Roberts as he was a member of the salvation army, although we also know that he gave his title up as he was eager to preach. We would love to find out more information so that we can fill the gaps in our family tree. We know that my grandmother was born in Merthyr Tydfil and that her parents were very well known in the town. Their names were David and Beatrice Williams. They ran a family butchers and were very high up in the community. They have since passed away. Other than this, we know very little about my grandmothers side of the family. If you think that you are related or that you have any information you could pass on to us AT ALL, we would be eternally greatful. Many Thanks....Kirsty Griffin |
