trying to find a dean harvey roberts adopted in 1969 to a family in leeds i think born 9th aug dont know is adopted name can you help please

Hi Only the adoptee can apply for their original birth cert and I have pasted below some information which may be of help in your research. However as the person you are looking for is only 40 years of age it could well be that they are unaware of the adoption. Caution should prevail as many fingers may be burnt.

Birth and adoption records are available from different places, depending on which area of the UK you are from.

If you were adopted in England or Wales:

Records can be obtained from the Adopted Children Register, held by the General Register Office
The Adopted Children Register has records of adoptions granted by courts since 1927.
A new birth entry is made that replaces the original birth entry.
Visit the General Register Office website to find out how to apply for a copy of your adoption certificate; www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/adoptions/adoptioncertificates/How_to_apply_and_pay.asp
