What was Edward's own occupation, per the marriage certificate?

There just aren't any Edwards with fathers John in the censuses who match up all, are there? His father could have died between his birth and the next census ... there are several Edwards in Salford with widowed mothers, but then we don't know he was from Salford.

This is sounding very much like another Roberts tale here! A child living with her aunt and uncle in Lancashire in 1901 ... the Irish connection ... the search for the parents ...
