Find Ancestors

I wonder if anyone could help me again please?!
I am trying to find a marriage for Andrew Robertson (my husbands great-grandad).
I have been told that his wifes married name was Roberta Robertson. I think they would have married around 1900 as they had a child in 1906. Obviously they may have had some before that. My problem is I dont have any Scottish marriage records although some other members of the family moved to Jarrow but couldn't find a marriage there either.

I had a look at the 1901 census. There are 2 Andrew Robertsons born 1881 Leith listed. Neither of whom were married at that time. Do you know his parent's names? 1911 census is not yet available in Scotland.

The marriage mentioned above by Barbara took place in Calton Glasgow 1900 Andrew Robertson married Roberta Thomson......

The couple appear on the 1901 census in Glasgow and place of birth for both is listed as Glasgow........do you know for certain your Andrew was born Leith 1881? If so then this is not him.

Sorry taking ages, there are too many Robertsons. What was Roberta's maiden surname. Of their children where any born in Scotland and roughly what years. I can find her surnames form the births and work from there to find the marriage.

Do you know the name and place of birth of the child born 1906?

Its James Maxwell Stevenson Robertson and he was born in Jarrow

It would appear the Glasgow marriage is the correct one and that Andrew was not born in Leith

and James Maxwell Stevenson Robertson along with his parents and elder siblings were born in Glasgow

Nothing personal as we have all done similar, but this serves as a good lesson to others to be sure of their facts and work back from what they know.
If you had looked up your husband's grandad's Scottish birth certificate, it would have given you parent's names, occupation and date and place of marriage.
