thanks kath i will send away for cert that may give me parents details.my husband is the son of ronald.he was always very cagey.and we were always told gladys was is mum.but found out from birth cert it was dora.thanks pat |

sorry i seem to get everyone confused i am looking for decendents of dora or gladys to see if anyone has info on who was ronalds father.as he his not on birth cert.its a long shot i know.thanks pat |

If the father's name is not on the birth certificate then I doubt you will find out. You could try looking for his baptism at the nearest church to the address of where he was born - father's names are sometimes put on baptism records (but not very often I'm afraid). |

ronald was born on 22 04 1915.his middle name was knight but no one knows were it came from.thanks again patx |

It could be that his father's surname was Knight and his mother gave him this as a middle name because she would't have been able to put his father's name on the certificate if she wasn't married and he didn't go with her to register the birth. I have seen this happen before. |
