Find Ancestors

Wilfred Robinson married Sarah Lilian Beardlsey in 1922 (Basford, Nottinghamshire). They had two children, Charlotte R in 1924 and Dale in 1927.

Wilfred died in 1971 and there is a death of a Sarah Lilian Lilian Robinson in 1976.

I have just received the 1973 will of Wilfred and it states "Vera Gwendoline Robinson . . . . the lawful widow and relict".

So . . . . . Wilfred obviousley remarried but I can't find this second marriage.

Looking on Ancestry there are lots of Wilfred Robinson's around so I thought I would put in the "Spouse" box Vera Gwendoline, but then nothing comes up.

Can anyone suggest a way of narrowing down the possibilities?

But if Wilfred died in 1971 how could he make a 1973 will ?

Sorry, it wasn't a will. He died "intestate", this is the document I have that's dated March 1973 where Vera Gwendoline is mentioned.

His son Dale registered Wilfred's death.

but you suggest above that his wife outlived him

If Sarah didn't die until 1976, are we to assume that she and Wilfred were divorced?

Sarah s death cert should state widow of Wilfred Robinson .if so she was still married to him when he died

My assumption is indeed that Wilfred & Sarah did divorce and that Sarah outlived him.

I don't have Sarha's death cert.

I don't know when Wilfred & Sarah divorced.

Checking for the Vera G Buckler entry on Ancestry, then clicking on "Find Spouse", all I get is, "Your Search for Robinson returned zero good matches" . . . . strange!

Yes you have search again putting Buckler in the spouse box at the bottom and the year and qtr in for Vera s record and it then comes up

Ahh I see Vera's volume nos is mistrancribed as 6 a s/b 6d thats why they arent matching
