Florence Robinson Born 1893

Susan Report 6 May 2010 22:00

Hi Can anyone do a look up for me please? I'm trying to find any details i can concerning my grandmother Florence Robinson. I have found a birth record for 1893 but i'm unsure if it is her for sure(i have her marriage certificate in 1921 when she was 28 years old, married an Albert Andrews in Hackney) . The birth record i've found is for period Oct, Nov and Dec 1893 born in St Saviour, London.

I've also found a census record for 1901 which lists Florence as 8 with a brother Frederick 5 mths old, mother's name is Ellen. Her father was James Robinson but it appears he didn't live with the family, as i've found a record for him on the 1901 census living somewhere totally different as a boarder, his occupation was Carman and its the only James Robinson I've found with the same occupation (taken from Florence's marriage certificate) and I'm really trying to find the right Florence and it's not easy as i'm new to all this (probably rambling now).

Can anyone find out details of possibly her mother which would help to confirm the record? I'm unsure what you wonderful folks can see when you are delving into the information. Sorry if i'm asking the unreasonable/impossible...

Thank you for your help in advance, any advice/help very gratefully received...seriously floundering here.

Thank you SO much, i really appreciate your help, that is just brilliant! Yes, it appears that he's off earning a crust for his family doesn't it, i thought he must still be around as the youngest is only 5 mths old.

Might i ask if there is any information concerning Florence, don't need to push will wait patiently...

I don't know. There's a baptism for Frederick William Robinson-same address as on the 1901 census.
Name: Frederick William Robinson
Record Type: Baptism
Date: 30 Mar 1901
Father's Name: Edward Robinson deceased
Mother's Name: Ellen Robinson
Parish: Holy Trinity, Newington
Borough: Southwark
County: Middlesex
9 Bath Terrace

Edit: I KNOW I've done this family before. Do we end up with Edward Robinson (carman) marrying Ellen Paine??
Edit again. No-wrong Ellen.

Hi MaureeninNY

You very kindly gave me some much needed help the other night...thank you.

Florence's father is definitely James Robinson (taken from a marriage certificate for Florence) so don't think he's could be the same person, but very grateful for help.

MaureeninNY

MaureeninNY Report 6 May 2010 22:46

What I was pointing out was that the address on Fred's baptismal record was exactly the same as the 1901 census. His father is given as Edward Robinson deceased. I wonder if Florence just forgot what her father's name was?

Ok ,but i think Ellen found a marriage record of 1892 between Ellen Louisa Palmer and James Robinson...I suppose James could have died and she married a brother but it's a long shot. I can't explain that one. It would be unusual wouldn't it to forget your fathers name?
