Find Ancestors

This is just a wild card really !

Just curious if anyone out there is researching the family of James William Robinson born 1856 Stockton on Tees and died of Phthisis (TB) in 1898, Thornaby on Tees. He was a Chartered Accountant.

He was my Great Grandmother's first husband - her second husband (who I'm descended from) was a labourer in the shipyard !

Apparently the family story goes that if my Great Grandmother ever remarried she wouldn't get any money from her first husbands estate . . . . but I don't think her first husband left a will !

It would be worth searching on Ancestry under the Probate search.
You should be able to put in when death occured. His full name, and his widow's name.
It takes a bit of searching, but if you find where probate was secured, and most likely also if there was a will, then you can apply for copies of the documentation. This should give hel.p re conditions on the heretity.

We have found one of our family and are awaiting the papers to come. cost £5.

As he was a Chartered Accountant I would hope that he had made a will.
